Principal's Message
Welcome to Castaic Elementary School! I'm Allison West, and I have the honor and privilege of being the Principal. Castaic Elementary School has approximately 530 students in transitional kindergarten through 6th grade. We believe that all students can learn at Castaic Elementary School! We strive to provide a nurturing, well-rounded education that meets the academic, social, and physical needs of our students. Our entire staff is dedicated to developing a positive school community where students feel cared for and safe in their learning environment.
Castaic Elementary has a long history of excellence. We have received the honor of California Distinguished School in 1994 and then again in 2002 and 2010. We're invested in developing children who are life-long learners and who will reach their full potential by becoming productive, contributing members to society.
Castaic Elementary is an Arts Integrated school. Arts Integration is an approach to teaching, in which the arts enhance learning in other subject areas such as science, language arts, mathematics and social studies. Our goal is to make the switch from teacher-centered instruction to a more progressive, student-centered form of instruction. This way of teaching supports the idea that learning is actively built, experiential, evolving, collaborative, problem-solving and reflective.
