My name is Stephanie Beach and I am honored and excited to be the principal at Castaic Elementary School. We have approximately 550 students in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade. At Castaic Elementary School we believe that all children can learn. Through a supportive school community and a hardworking and dedicated staff we are helping children reach their fullest potential.
Castaic Elementary has a long history of excellence. We have received the honor of California Distinguished School in 1994 and then again in 2002 and 2010. We have a strong school community that is invested in developing children who are life-long learners and who will reach their full potential by becoming productive, contributing members to society.
With that in mind, Castaic Elementary School has begun the implementation of a school-wide Arts Integration approach to teaching in which the arts leverage learning in other subject areas such as science, language arts, mathematics and social studies. Our goal is to make the switch from teacher-centered instruction to more progressive, student-centered instruction. This approach to teaching is grounded in the belief that learning is actively built, experiential, evolving, collaborative, problem-solving and reflective.
